About Us

The West Coast Movement Therapy Society was founded in 2008 by families and friends of families with children enrolled in the Empowering Steps Movement Therapy Program, directed by Vivien Symington. The Society was formed to assist in providing this service to children living with autism and other mobility challenges, and to provide specialized equipment required for the treatment of children enrolled in the program. The founders of our organization are dedicated to enabling more children to benefit from this therapy as each of their children have made significant improvements since beginning this innovative rehabilitation program. It is hoped that the Society will be able to assist in the research and development of this program by providing funding for research and also in the development of a full time facility. We are looking forward to another productive year and welcoming you to our organization.
